Insurance and Protection: Helping your people feel secure whatever happens

Nobody wants to think about what happens if a colleague becomes seriously ill or can no longer work. But if your organisation puts the right protection in place, your people feel valued and reassured that they will be looked after when it matters most.

Insurance and protection benefits

This part of the employee package is designed to provide support during some of life’s more serious moments. My Group’s protection offering includes products covering everyday healthcare costs, hospital stays, long-term absence and serious illness.

My Group provides the employee experience and connects employees with the appropriate service. Any regulated advice is provided by an FCA-authorised company within My Group or an appropriately authorised third-party provider.

Why do protection benefits matter?

Day-to-day benefits like discounts, wellbeing support and recognition tell employees what their job is worth in normal times. Protection benefits tell them something else: that their employer has thought about what happens when things go wrong, and has done something about it.

For many employees, particularly those with families, mortgages or dependants, protection benefits are among the most valued things an employer can offer. They’re also increasingly important in recruitment: candidates notice whether an organisation has thought carefully about their security, not just their salary.

You don’t need to offer everything at once. Many organisations start with a health cash plan or hospital cover, which delivers visible, regular value to employees, and build from there as they understand what their workforce values most.

What protection benefits does My Group offer?

My Group’s protection offering covers the spectrum from everyday healthcare costs through to serious illness and Private Medical Insurance.

Health Insurance Benefits

A range of protection products designed to support employees at every level of need. This includes health cash plans that reimburse routine healthcare expenses such as dental and optical costs, hospital cash plans for stays and procedures and critical illness cover that pays a lump sum on diagnosis of a serious condition.

Private Medical Insurance

For employees who need faster access to diagnosis and treatment than the NHS can typically provide, private medical insurance gives them a clearer, quicker route to specialist care. Coverage can include inpatient and day-patient procedures, diagnostics and referral pathways, cancer cover and hospital lists, with the level of cover tailored to your organisation’s needs. For employees facing a serious diagnosis or waiting for treatment, knowing that private cover is in place can make a real difference to what happens next.
